Holy shit people, I had heard of #yunohost and I knew it had some good apps, but I didn't realize just how many things you can point and click install, so I think that solves my problem of deciding what to use for my expanded #selfhosting schemes... Peertube, Immich, Cryptpad, Forgejo, Ghost, jitsi-meet, and such here I come...
I think the only question is whether I should maybe attach a whole USB drive just for that VM.

Alright. My first #SelfHost question with #YunoHost. I installed an application (Actual) from YunoHost's built-in application store. Actual currently lives at https://<domain>/bootstrap but I want its URL to be https//<domain>/actual. In Actual's application settings is "Move to a different URL" so I set the above URL, but I get error "cannot be moved because it requires a full domain." Anyone have any thoughts what to do?

@_elena @yunohost As you are a video person, you might also enjoy #Loops, which is also available on #yunohost. A year ago I didn’t know about yunohost, now I am helping to maintain the loops and pixelfed package 😅 thanks for introducing me to this world!

Feeling a little emotional today as I reflect back on one year of #selfhosting.

If you check out the full thread you can see some of the challenges I faced in the early days. It's only been a year but it feels like a lifetime ago. When I read back, I think: who was this person? _ (task) is so easy! Like, why be scared of tweaking DNS records? 😅
I will write about the highs and lows in a proper blog post. Spoiler alert: there were mostly HIGHS ☺️
For now, I want to express my gratitude to:

✨ @ilja who recommended I check out YunoHost (I had never heard of it before)

So, the Umami install on my Yunohost server shat the bed; I had to install anew. If anyone knows how to import session data from a backup database dump, please do reach out as getting help on the Yunohost forums for anything even a little complex is like winning the lottery (if the form doesn't break and just delete everything you've written) :/ #umami #yunohost #disaster #indieweb #blog
