Obviously there are all sorts of contexts for this situation, not least the absolute shit currently (and historically) being chucked at Kurds by Turkey, Syria et al!!!
I think the point of the piece is, in part, asking the question: “Why, given all the betrayal at the hands of the US/ UK/ Israel and others over the years, do they risk being slaughtered by the IRGC in an imperialist proxy-war designed to turn Iran into yet another failed state like Syria, Libya & Iraq?”
It seems to speak to the effectiveness of the MI6 propaganda campaign rather than to any rational thinking on the part of the Kurdish leadership! As far as I can see there’s NOTHING in this for those Kurdish people other than more betrayal!
Yet again, imperialism is happy to expend the lives of brown people rather than put their own boots on the ground in these conflicts!
