#Substack automatically makes you follow accounts.
I've have two accounts using the name Chris Hedges and when I follow the email links to those accounts, it automatically subscribed me to them. I didn't get a choice, just an automatic follow. So I had to unfollow them.
Then I looked at by following list. Basically every blog you follow, it automatically follows you to the authors' accounts. So blogs I briefly subscribed to, so I could check them out, caused me to be following a whole load of people I did not care about.
It's kinda stupid. Especially if Substack wants users to use it as an all-in-one social media instead of just for reading blogs and getting email alerts.
If they want me to chat and post shit on there, why would getting me to follow random accounts be enticing?
