This week on Patreon: a Deep Dive for the cowboy tier. A broken screen and bad battery set me back, so this month, I'm jerry-rigging my own 3-2-1 automated data backup using a Mac mini and the Raspberry Pi in my DEFCON badge.

I've been using my own private #VPN 24/7 for over a week now. It runs on a Raspberry Pi 3B with just one GB of RAM. Not a single issue. Throughput is fast enough for me, and it blocks ads through Pi-hole, which is installed on the same little machine.

I made a custom #Moonlight / Sunshine game streaming client for my TV w/ #RaspberryPi 5: codeberg.org/kosinus/beastie

This was a long trip, but man am I glad it all came together in the end and I was able to iron out all of my issues.

It's got lots of rough edges and a crude UI, but it's also sort of uniquely made for myself.

I have been busy with computer issues. I have got a working computer again, thanks to Debian 13.

The nearest experience I've had to Debian, before now, is the Raspberry Pi OS.

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but on a donated vintage Raspberry Pi Model B, I wondered, “still usable with modern stuff like Raspberry Pi Connect?”

So:
- installed Raspberry Pi OS Lite (32bit)
- updated packages (clearly not a very speedy process, but hey, free computer!)
- add Raspberry Pi Connect Lite (remote shell only provided)

And sure enough I can connect securely to it (from anywhere). Long-term support FTW.

So now to install some programming environments and use it.
