Oh, wow. A new #RaspberryPi system is now available: the 500+. It's for lazy folks like me, who after decades of assembling machines, want to use something perfect out of the box :-)
- 16 GB of RAM
- 256 GB of SSD
- quality keyboard

OMG I'm tempted, glad I didn't pull the trigger on the original pi 500. RGB back lit keys, an in built SSD, proper keys.... Think I need to order a ultra wide screen to go with it. Though it would be £200 because it's $200 but it's only £172 thepihut.com/products/raspberr

I have no need or use case for it but I want the new Raspberry Pi 500+ which is the premium version of the original Raspberry Pi 500, complete with 16GB RAM, pre-installed 256GB SSD, Gateron mechanical switches, low-profile changeable keycaps, programmable RGB LED backlighting and more!

:raspberrypi: Okay, this is pretty sick: The Pi 500 is getting an upgrade "with a mechanical keyboard, LED lighting, 16GB of RAM, and NVMe SSD storage." phoronix.com/review/raspberry-

Raspberry Pi 500+ Review: RGB clicky keys and NVMe storage, but with a $200 price tag

Raspberry Pi has released an updated version of the Raspberry Pi 500 and this time the omitted NVMe storage is present, as is an RGB mechanical keyboard.

@geerlingguy It's a lovely piece of kit, and I'm very fond of my Pi 400, but I can't help thinking how far the company has diverged from its initial concept of bare-bones low end computers that are so cheap literally anyone will be able to get one and teach themselves important tech skills.
