a tale of two #raspberryPi, the first, a rPi 3B+ running bullseye online connected to a wifi hotspot with an uptime of >180 days. the other a new rPi 5 (originally bookworm, now trixie) that can't stay connected to the same hotspot for 24hours without the network connection dying. Lots of similar issues on the web, but no solution. Hopefully https://github.com/raspberrypi/trixie-feedback/issues/25 will get some answers (but I'm worried it won't)

Now we've added #LittleSnitch to the mix (thanks @SynAck for reminding me of the name) and I learnt two things:
1. My Mac sure does a lot of phoning home and scanning my network for no good reason.
2. The updated logging on my #RaspberryPi is showing #ufw blocking requests from my router and my security camera system roughly every 2 minutes. The router might be something sensible, checking and updating the list of what's on the network but the security camera system???
Guess I'm slowly falling down the networking rabbit hole.... upside-down and blindfolded, bumping off every mistake on the way!

P.S.: one of them really is fake - I bought like 20 of those at some point and maybe 2 of them worked. Threw away the rest today after testing each one 🚮.

I had fun using #NodeRed after long time. As I had to rebuild one of the #homeautomation #raspberrypi due sdcard failure, I moved DHT21 sensor reading from script to node-red. Now both temp and humidity is read from kernel and sent to #HomeAssistant every 30 secs.

The rpi-imager problem was a red herring, after switching to dd I still can't get a [non-mangled] CM0 dev board to boot.
With the CM0 dev board on the left I can enable RPIBOOT, apply power, run rpiboot, write an image/sync, remove power, disable RPIBOOT, apply power, LED turns on after a couple of seconds and it boots from the eMMC.
But following the same steps on the other board when powering up after disabling RPIBOOT the LED never turns on (it was on whilst writing the image) and it doesn't boot. Even writing the image from the working CM0 doesn't boot (reading back after a failed boot still has the original sha256sum).
Anyone have any pointers?
