My kitchen info board now works well enough .. just need to tidy the code a bit - but all works as I want it
Pulls in data from a few places
We always forget which bins on which day
...and sometimes forget to top up my sons school dinner money account on time
Living near the beach it's useful to know when high tide is
and the #HeatPump is still new enough I want all the data !

Junkpile exploring, found my old Raspberry Pi model B with original Adafruit PiTFT 320x240 screen, 4 GPIO buttons, case to hold it upright, like a bedside alarm clock.
SD card in it was junk, so dropped the modern Raspberry OS, "Trixie", onto a new SD card, booted.
Single core. Took 5m to get to desktop.
Tried to fsck old SD, no luck. No backup.
What had I done years ago?
Pygame, Frame buffer. Display time with changing color for numbers? Images from from yard cam?

New DNS setup on my Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W! 🚀
Switched from Pi-hole to AdGuard Home + Unbound. The main change: I've disabled AdGuard's internal cache so that Unbound handles all caching centrally with values perfectly tuned for the RAM. 🛡️
At the same time, Unbound acts as a recursive resolver, fetching everything directly from the root servers. No more double-caching, just full control and lightning-fast responses! ⚡️

Bin von Pi-hole auf AdGuard Home + Unbound umgestiegen. Wichtigste Änderung: Der Cache von AdGuard ist deaktiviert, damit Unbound das Caching zentral und effizient mit perfekt abgestimmten Werten übernimmt. 🛡️
Gleichzeitig löst Unbound jetzt als rekursiver Resolver alles direkt über die Root-Server auf. Keine doppelten Caches mehr, dafür volle Kontrolle und blitzschnelle Antworten! ⚡️

Hab auf #ollama das laut ollama.com 2 Monate alte Ministral3 installiert und laufen lassen. Das Modell ist auf dem Stand von Oktober 2023. Leider kann man der offiziellen Seite nur entnehmen, seit wann das Modell zur Verfügung steht und nicht auf welchem Stand es ist.

Die Vision: Alle Lösungen für die zur Zeit #BigTech benutzt wird sind mit einem Befehl auf dem eigenen Server oder einem #RaspberryPi deployed.
