Just spun up a dedicated IoT gateway on a Raspberry Pi 4, this time running FreedomBox + AdGuard DNS. Works flawlessly 🛡️

FreedomBox has a billion apps worth exploring, but I kept it lean: a simple, useful privacy shield for home IoT. No bloat, just control.

Every smart home needs this layer. 🔒️📡

This #drone + #RaspberryPi project is too good to ignore. Saving it for a proper rainy‑day deep dive.

I ordered a 5 to create a retro game system. I wanted a Zero 2 W for a more portable system, too, but it's out of stock everywhere(except Amazon for $32). Depending on how I can do with my first , I may spend the extra on that one.

Just set up a dedicated IoT hotspot on a Raspberry Pi 4 running OpenWrt, and it works great!

OpenWrt is perfect for this: clean routing, full control, no bloat. Added AdGuard DNS to block all the unnecessary (and harmful) telemetry these devices keep sending.

Every home should have one of these 🔒📡

I've finally cut over from #Manjaro to #Debian Trixie on my desktop PC. The constant updates and frequent long-running compilations for the AUR packages I had really started getting on my nerves, and the Manjaro projects seems to be on unsteady ground these days.

Since I'm running Debian or its device-specific derivatives on my servers and #raspberrypi s, I've gotten comfortable with it and am ready for a stable desktop.

Feeling rather chuffed with myself. I’ve set up a #RaspberryPi to act as an RSS aggregator, a read it later service and a podcast catcher all in the one.

Reason: so I can use open source apps on both iOS and Android devices AND keep everything in sync.

Scanning and adding a Bluetooth mouse on a Raspberry Pi from the shell is much easier than I would've thought.

I was able to figure it out after discovering the bluetoothctl utility. Having to type the MAC address was the hardest part.

Getting back to setting up my 2nd MotionEye camera after looking at the neglected hardware piled on my desk for months. #RaspberryPi
