Now planning my next #RaspberryPi project: an old-school pocket #camera for still pictures. Fixed lens etc. and the only user interface would be "shutter" button. Then some feedback that a photo was taken (maybe a led). I think it's doable - anyone done it?
For mechanics, I'll try to find some cheap donor from thrift store or flea market. The bigger the better.

Why is it that every time I try to do something interesting with computers, I end up frustrated and finding things not working as advertised?
Bought a #RaspberryPi 5, put it in an #Argon40 ONE V3 case, and after around 5 attempts managed to get the thing to correctly power up.
But I bought this case because of the #Argon remote control, and the case has an in-built receiver. But does it work? Does it hell.
Not in #LibreELEC and not in #Raspbian, even though I'm using the latest repos for everything and reading forum posts to try and reproduce what people say works but doesn't.
Another week wasted, on and off, so I'm still stuck watching stuff on the main desktop PC and not on my 55" TV in the lounge, because with a remote control, #Kodi is painful to use.

I took a lid from jewel box that matched the oak frame dimensions to complete the casing. It's a wooden tablet! Also downgraded to #RaspberryPi Zero 2 W so plenty of room inside. Still, a full-blown #ARM64 #Linux.
It will run dashboard w/#GNU Screen or Lynx etc. to show e.g. #teletext spotprices, weather etc. or random #ANSIart.

I ordered my Raspberry Pi on the morning of the recent price hike *due to an increase in memory costs*, I couldn't let it put me off because I'd been humming and harring about it for years! I understand that they've promised to drop the prices again as soon as economically possible but in my experience there will be a rotten period of these things getting worse before they get better. If you're in the position that I was in, middle-aged, neurodivergent, severe mental illness, to all intents and purpose, retired, and looking for that tinkering tech project, then it's probably best you do it soon!
Okay, pretty niche position, but you get me.

Pohdin RaspberryPi:tä vauhdikkaamman raudan hankkimista kotiin, ja päädyin miettimään saisiko jostain broileriin ylijäämälämmöt siirtävän systeemin.
Talvella ylijäämälämpö ei ole ongelma (koska sähkölämmitys), mutta kesäisin se on siirrettävä ulos. Tai ainakaan se ei ole hyödyllistä lämpöä.
