Наследование — это механизм, который позволяет создавать новый класс (наследник или дочерний класс) на основе уже существующего (родителя или базового класса). Дочерний класс автоматически «забирает» все атрибуты и методы своего родителя. Ему не нужно определять их заново. Проще говоря, вместо того чтобы говорить: «Гоблин — это что-то, у чего есть здоровье и атака. Дракон — это что-то, у чего есть здоровье и атака», мы говорим: «Сначала создадим общий шаблон "Враг" с базовыми характеристиками. А гоблин и дракон — это разновидности этого врага, которые наследуют всё от него и добавляют что-то своё».

@castarco Are such principles also written down somewhere in the #perl community too? I searched briefly yesterday and couldn't find anything specific anywhere prominent. For example, I searched on the Perl foundation website.

(Or in the #rakulang community? But I didn't search there)

The #python foundation rejected a 1.5 Million $ grant, because the #US government wanted them to agree that they would not "award, operate any programs that advance or promote #DEI". I am very glad they left this money on the table and will #donate to the foundation, so hopefully we can all make sure they get the funding anyway without toxic strings attached. 💪 They are currently working to address structural vulnerabilities in Python and #PyPI.

Die Python Software Foundation hat sich für eine staatliche Förderung beworben, um die Sicherheit ihre Software zu erhöhen. Sie haben eine Zusage über 1,5mio$ erhalten. Die Bedingungen verlangten allerdings, dass sie keine Programme durchführen würden, die Vielfalt, Gleichberechtigung und Inklusion (DEI) fördern oder unterstützen.
Daraufhin haben sie die Förderung abgelehnt.
