I must admit I've never tried #peertube.
I've tried #lemmy and it actually seemed to propagate fine for me to be honest.
I gave up on it for more or less the same reason I gave up on #reddit
It seems more time consuming to keep up with them.
I still use #youtube but not really as a maker, only as aviewer and mainly for howtos so I'm not sure #peertube has the traction to step in for that usage yet.
I may try it when I have larger blocks of time free - to give it a fair crack.

Does anyone use the @trom #PeerTube instance? According to https://videos.trom.tf/about/instance/tech I should be able to synchronize a #YouTube channel, but I made a request some days ago and haven't seen any result despite the Synchronizations tab listing the channel in question as "SYNCHRONIZED" under Status. Before I start manually importing videos via http I want to make sure I'm not going to start seeing duplicate copies of everything when my request finally goes though, or something of that nature.

@lianna I've been thinking about doing bushcrafting videos on #peertube - there's a big bushcrafting community on Youtube (Simon Bloke in the Woods, Kent Survival, TA Outdoors - just to name just a couple of the better known UK tubers), but essentially none on Fediverse, or at least I've not come across it. I think the issue is at least partly about exposure - in the absence of algoritms, you have to be actively looking for the content, and let's face it, Peertube's discoverability is nowhere near that of Youtube... and when your expected audience is maybe a couple of people across the world and their dog, it dampens the enthusiasm a bit, because shooting quality content and editing it is a lot of work, even if you only do it for fun.
