んとね、ざっくりいうと、
#PeerTube は自分で建ててナンボってところはある。
動画のエンコードが必要なときだけ演算能力要るけど、エンコード済みのデータはオブジェクトストレージとかから転送するだけだし、基本的に自分のデータだけホストするので、実は軽い。
で、仲のよいPeerTubeインスタンス同士でつながるとお互いの投稿が共有されるようになるので、そうやって広げる。再生は提供元のサーバから直接データを取得するんだけど、キャッシュして手伝うこともできる。
もしハブになるサーバが欲しかったら、FediMovieに声をかけてくれてもいいよ。
FediMovieは3種類あって、メインのfedimovie.comの他、社会的な関心について扱うsocial.fedimovie.com、センシティブ向けのannex.fedimovie.comがある。
あなたのPeerTubeサーバとつなげると、いずれかのFediMovieの動画一覧に一緒に表示されるようになるっていうワケ。
まぁでも、最初はFediMovieに登録して試すといいかもね。
ちなみにPeerTubeは、YouTubeみたいに動画URLを貼る他、Fediverseからフォローして新着を受け取ったり、お気に入りやブーストもできるよ。
