For the night was wrought with restlessness and sleeplessness, the old man had to drag himself out of his sunken bed of chains, upon legs of jelly weak and in pain he stumbled to make his coffee as classical music played, he prepared to make a shower and his body trembling in pain was stiff as his mind was not awake, not even with breath yet he had to start his day, the hot water poured over him like a boiling pot of rain, he struggled to wash his hair and beard, his body nearly unable to bend to wash his feet and derriere, as the water washed over his body, he yearned to sleep, grabbing the towel he struggles to dry himself off, slowly stepping out he looks in the mirror and realizes he has to brush out this wet rats nest, his arms and hands struggle to work it all out, he shuffles off to his bed to sit, he pulls on his socks, shirt and pants then his boots, he pours a cup of coffee and packs his pipe with tobacco, he opens the door and steps outside to a morning far to warm for a winters day, the sun rising slowly the birds begin to sing as traffic of life goes by, not a single one cares for the state this old man's life is in;
