From the agonizing distress of another sleepless night the old man drags his breathless lifeless body from a frigid sunken bed of jagged rocks and frozen chains, his body stiff as the floor he stands upon, as the classical music plays he shuffles in pain to prepare his coffee, his hands trembling as he pours in the water and counts the scoops of grinds, nearly to weak he fumbles yet manages to plug in the percolator, as the coffee begins to perc he stumbles off to the toilet, his bowels bellow out in hunger, in the mirror his hair and beard disheveled from a treacherous night of discomfort, struggling lift the brush he says who even will care, shuffling back to his bed of doom, he sits as he struggles to pull on his socks, pants and boots, he pours a cup of coffee as his hands are shaking, carefully he packs his pipe with scraps of tobacco, he pulls on his coat and steps out in the vile cold darkness of the world, the sun has yet to rise, the moon is low in the early morning sky, a sliver of a moon facing the sun gives the appearance of the ring of fire, the world begins to wake, and with out a care for the horrible state this old man must endure yet another devasting day;

Übrigens war es deutlich einfacher, mein Bankkonto zu kündigen, um zu einer anderen Bank zu wechseln, als aus paypal rauszukommen. Mit dem Wechselservice wurden fast alle Lastschriftempfänger automatisch über die neue Bankverbindung informiert. Hat mich vielleicht eine halbe Stunde gekostet. Wero wird bei der neuen Bank wohl im ersten Halbjahr 2026 eingeführt. Ich freue mich darauf, es zu nutzen.

@gorgon_zola alternativen dauern leider bis sie sich ethablieren. Hab auch erst seit kurzem von #wero erfahren. Consorsbank wird leider noch nicht unterstützt, witziger Weise aber der Mutterkonzern. Es kommen ja noch weitere Banken hinzu. Kontaktloses zahlen wurde anfangs auch kaum genutzt. Ich hoffe einfach, dass die Wende bald kommt. Vor allem weil #paypal keine Bank ist.

Ich werde paypal nicht los. Stundenlang habe ich uralte Bankverbindungen deaktiviert. Gruselig, was sich da in 16 Jahren alles angesammelt hat. Sämtliche Zahlungen sind abgeschlossen. Trotzdem behauptet die Maschine, dass ich das Konto erst schließen kann, wenn alle Zahlungen abgeschlossen sind. Was ist da los, kennt jemand eine Lösung?
