🚨 F-Droid and Google's Developer Registration Decree

「 The F-Droid project cannot require that developers register their apps through Google, but at the same time, we cannot “take over” the application identifiers for the open-source apps we distribute, as that would effectively seize exclusive distribution rights to those applications. If it were to be put into effect, the developer registration decree will end the F-Droid project 」

Xeres – Uncensorable Peer-to-Peer links.shikiryu.com/shaare/_nTT Le concept et la réalisation du projet sont géniaux. Le problème sera toujours de faire venir des "non-geek" dessus.

@knoppix95 @gnome @itsfoss I think for version 50, it would be super awesome to build the extension manager with search, right into the GNOME desktop!

How cool would that be for new users? It's one of the coolest things about GNOME, and should be celebrated front and centre. ;-)

LibSCHEMA update: LibSCHEMA 0.2.0 has now been updated with tested support for the #BasicModelInterface, needed for, e.g., running models through NOAA's NextGen National Water Model Framework. That means that a SCHEMA-compatible model gets a working* BMI implementation (which can be a bit tricky to set up) for free. The BMI support was in there before, but not tested, and turned out to have a few bugs.

LibSCHEMA package: pypi.org/project/libschema/
LibSCHEMA documentation: rivertempest.org/libschema/rea
LibSCHEMA source: github.com/mines-ciroh/libSCHE
SCHEMA context: fediscience.org/@dphilippus/11

*(It works with my modeling. Should be model-agnostic, but I have not actually tested it with other models.)

🙌 Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this journey from writing code, reviewing docs, to supporting governance and community growth.

Stay tuned! We’ll be publishing a detailed announcement blog soon with more insights on what this means for users, contributors, and the future of model serving on Kubernetes.

For now: thank you to the community for making this possible. 💙
