@zombiewarrior It's a time-honored survival tactic. Animals in the wild like to always linger at the edge of two adjacent ecosystems. Say, where a field meets a forest. Then they can plunge into the forest for cover, or run out into the field, as suits them to escape different predators. I do the same thing - stay at the borders of the ecosystems, not fully committed into either. I *favor* #OpenSource, but I stop short of being some sort of overly-zealous advocate of it, knowing I can't fully escape Proprietary Ecosystems. There's an endless supply of dickheads who know all too well the money they can make through aggressively pushing for proprietary lock-in.

@axel I never did lift a finger to advance that ecosystem, knowing it was liable to exactly this sort of rug-pulling eventually. I might be dragged kicking and screaming to *use* a proprietary ecosystem - to gain access to important people or real-life opportunities. But alas, *advancing* such an ecosystem is doomed in the end to being a fool's errand. I avoid creating any new apps, groups, relied-upon links, relied-upon QR-codes, etc. I just *ruthlessly minimally use* those ecosystems (always keeping in view how to escape them as best as realistically possible), never crossing the line into advocate or developer. #OpenSource #Linux #Android #DataSoverignty
