I am still trying to get my #Matrix server fit my needs. Backfill supposedly works albeit with some known issues. But Claude Code is working on getting this working on my k8s cluster with no luck, for 2 days straight now. ...still no luck :/

One of the perks of using my own domains for everything is: I can simply change my former Discord ".gg" invite links to Matrix now and all the old links will now point to my new Space 🤓

Hmm I'm at a crossroads...
I self-host my Matrix instance, have some encrypted rooms there, chat with people from other instances. Works fine.
But Hetzner just raised the prices, and my backups are getting bigger and bigger. It's now 8 Euro / month, and if the backups keep growing at this rate, by the end of the year it could be 10-12 Euro / month.
What do I do... Suck it up, or just switch to public instance...
Difficult choices...
