Discord is my most used app and I hate it. Matrix has a whole host of issues and I'm done with it. IRC is fine but it's no discord.
Clearly we need to bring back XMPP 
But honestly that wouldn't be a bad idea. If I get some free time I might try to make a discord like XMPP client.

Running #Nas #Xmpp #Matrix #Pihole and several other services. Also physical router exchanged with virtual one by #Mikrotik #CHR .
Powered by online #UPS on which the default 7Ah batteries was removed and new, 38Ah connected. Autonomous power more than 12 hours. The fiber optic line is powered by ISP themselves from their DC, so still there is Internet when no main power.

In the wake of countries passing legislation to prevent minors from accessing the web freely the Matrix.org home server is banning all everyone under 18 years from using their home serven starting August 7: https://matrix.org/legal/terms-and-conditions/
Can't wait for them to implement some flawed age verification too. Seeing as the Matrix Foundation is based in the UK this isn't too far fetched imo. Time to finally look into self-hosting a home server I guess but most people will not have that privilege, especially if they aren't old enough to buy their own servers or services. :S
Kinda sucks how the free web is dying. Without it being available when I was a kid I definitely wouldn't be where I am today. I feel like we should not let such an important resource as the internet die this way just because parents can't do their job in raising their kids...
