so, I joined
#foundation-office:matrix.org and sent a message asking what the hell I do bc I'm not getting any response from abuse@matrix.org (because #matrix:matrix.org seems to have its room state fucked or smth bc I can't send messages in it and apparently others can't either. average matrix experience)
and, I have now found out that "[they] can see your ticket in the queue, though there are other higher priority tickets ahead of it. The team will take a look when they can."
HOW ARE THERE OTHER TICKETS AHEAD OF IT IN THE QUEUE AFTER NEARLY SIX MONTHS?????

Oh, and do you know that in order to change an incorrectly-determined `Content-Type` header in #nginx you can't use `add_header Content-Type "application/json"` since that actually *adds* another content-type header?
You actually have to use the Lua block to overwrite it 🤯:
header_filter_by_lua_block {
ngx.header["Content-Type"] = "application/json"
}
Oh and without this, #matrix calls end up with MISSING_MATRIX_RTC_FOCUS https://github.com/element-hq/element-x-android/issues/4528

I just spent five hours trying to set up #Matrix Element Call on my self-hosted instance so that I can call with my family, following many official and non-official docs and I GIVE UP!
It's a complicated mess, requires so many moving pieces, the web interface uses a different call implementation than the android app, and even between android apps all I'm getting is "UNKNOWN_ERROR, contact your server admin".
Well I'm the admin and this damn thing is unadministrable!
