Awhile back, someone made a Matrix room called "Luna," open exclusively to users named Luna. In response, I made a "Beth" room.
There have been no messages in the Beth room from anyone but me since July 2024. Today, I decided to shut the room down. I don't know if there's actually a way to "delete" a room in Matrix, so I made it private and left the room.

Il faut partir de ces #MetaPlatforms et surtout pas y crée de nouvelles raisons de s'y connecter !
Pourquoi ne pas créer une chaîne sur #matrix en expliquant aux utilisateur•ice•s comment s'y connecter ? Ou encore plus simplement sur #signal .. Bref les solutions existent mais sont ignorées.

Also übrigens, mein Thema von letztens ist jetzt soweit erörtert, dass ich vermutlich für Screensharing* und Videocalls auf Discord ausweichen werde. Gestern mich mit Sohnemann besprochen und wir haben überlegt, dann für Text- und Sprachnachrichten noch bei Matrix zu bleiben. Eventuell werden wir uns da auch auf die Suche nach nem anderen Server machen, auch weil Matrix.org zu groß ist und vermutlich dann unter die Chatkontrolle fallen wird.
Etwas traurig bin ich zwar schon, weil ich Element wirklich sehr gerne als All-in-One Lösung auf dem Laptop benutzt habe, aber so lange die sich weigern, die App auf was anderem als Electron aufzubauen, so lange wird man es nicht für Screensharing nutzen können.
Mit dem Schedule von KDE, in der Plasma 6.6 Version einen neuen Login-Manager bereitzustellen, was vermutlich Mitte kommenden Jahres passieren wird, kann stark vermutet werden, dass dann auch die Möglichkeit wegfällt, eine X11 Session auszuwählen. Tja, und dann möchte ich mein System so weit angepasst haben, dass ich ohne Probleme mit Wayland weitermachen kann. 🤷♀️
Also, sorry Element, aber X11 hat einfach keine Zukunft. 🧐
*Screensharing meint hier, den ganzen Bildschirm teilen zu können, was unter Wayland in der Element App zur Zeit nicht möglich ist.

Update the #Matrix #Element webclient on a whimThese "designers" really put a lot of time and effort in figuring out how to make the worst fucking UI possible. Can you stop "innovating" for just a few moments and make Matrix actually good and responsive?
