Our TROM Discussions chat on Matrix is now TROM Community Discussions: This chatroom is not representative of TROM, but allows for a public discussion space, hopefully around TROM-like subjects.
I, Tio, need to focus on a new video series for TROM and that chat was keeping me too busy at times. While the discussions can be interesting, they are often offtopic and for me quite distracting,
I will keep an eye on the chat from time to time tho...
So you know.

Something I realized this morning: I joined a few Discord servers and Matrix channels that belong to different podcasts. In all of those channels I can see a lot of people that I can see in other channels, and sometimes a lot of the conversations repeat between channels (and some even I follow or they follow me here on Mastodon).
I'm almost to the point of creating my own channel named "People that listen to the same podcast as me", just to simplify the discussions. 😄

#ConfessionBear Les gens qui répondent à des pouets sur #Matrix en disant "pourquoi vous utilisez pas XMPP à la place" ça me fait penser aux gens qui disent d'installer Linux quand on pose une question sur Windows.
Cette tendance, ça nous paraîtrait tout de même complètement con dans la vraie vie, imaginez par exemple chez le libraire:
- "Bonjour, je voudrais acheter un livre sur les jardins potagers.
- Ah mais le jardinage c'est de la merde, ce qu'il vous faut c'est un livre sur la peinture sur soie, ça c'est un vrai loisir"

Was passiert eigentlich, wenn #Signal bei der #Chatkontrolle nicht mitmachen kann oder will?
Wer erlegt dieser nicht nationalen Stiftung dann auf, deutsche IPs auf ihren Servern zu blocken? Und muss sie sich daran halten?
Und was ist dann mit #Threema und #Matrix? Wer findet jeden einzelnen Serverbetreiber und macht ihm Auflagen?
Damit das vollständig ist, bräuchte man eigentlch so eine "Great Firewall". Aber genau das wirderspricht doch unseren gemeinsamen Werten, oder?

My new least favorite thing about the new #Element #Matrix client UI:
If I turn off showing people in the list in a space with a large number of members (so I can find the channels), even the People filter doesn't show people. It's either or.
Sometimes I wonder if software authors use their software.
