While I do not agree with everything posted on #Mastodon, I really appreciate that you can have the wild west back of content. Don't like it, don't engage with it. Just know not everything you click is wholesome on this app. And that's if and only when you look at unfiltered federated content.

@stonedonkey I've been going really hard on #Mastodon the last week and one feature I really really wish we had was the ability to have a "trending" view of people and hashtags we follow of some time period (ex 3h, 6h.)
This would get rid of people self boosting posts and allow better content more discoverability.
I found a way to do this and love it but it creates too many calls.

Over the last week I've been adding loads of new features to #Elefeed. I started the project because I wanted a way to filter people I follow and #hashtags in separate views.
I really love having the ability to reduce the noise and get to what I want to see.

Did I ever mention that one of the things I really like about #mastodon is that when you get something weird in your feed, you can easily figure out why it was shown?
The concept that I chose who to follow and I see their posts and boosts, instead of some opaque algorithm works well for me.

As I'm expecting more people to leave American centralized platforms like #x :
My goal is to build a Canadian community where both #english and #french speakers are welcomed in the #fediverse
As a French Canadian myself, both languages are important to me.
#digitalsovereignty is obviously critical. The server is in #montreal #quebec #canada
That being said, my goal isn't to be the next "big" platform. I don't really intend to advertise that much. At least for now.
In fact, I might very well end up alone haha, but we'll see what happens.
I'll probably move my account there soon. I still have some configs to do.
