There are valid reasons why AI companies and tech bros are not welcome here, as well as people who are defending them or trying to rationalize the use of bourgeois technology that is unethical, causing the rapid issues of AI vandals running rampant, AI bots that scraps data to be trained without permission, use of AI by companies to do mass layoff and therefore the higher count of unemployment, AI "artist" that clutter streaming platforms, and more problems.

Seit meinen Anfängen mit Linux nutze ich privat als Alternative zu Winzigweichs Office-Produkten die Alternative von LibreOffice auf meinen Rechnern. Mit etwas Eingewöhnung konnte ich auch irgendwann ganz gut zwischen geschäftlich zwangsgenutztem MS-Office und den kleinen Unterschieden bei LibreOffice gedanklich umswitchen. In den letzten Tagen vernahm ich jedoch vermehrt Kritik an der hinter LibreOffice stehenden "Document Foundation" und ihrem Umgang mit den Entwicklern. I've pushed a bunch of quick hotfixes for the Mastodon Bird UI nightly for v4.6.0-alpha.6-2024-04-06, with the CHANGELOG updated here (see things under [UNRELEASED]):

The new profile redesign is causing a bit of trouble-I'm fixing things on the fly as soon as I or users notice any issues.
I also pushed some fixes for the ultra-accessible variant; some font sizes were still hardcoded. It's nicer to browse for my vision-impaired spouse.

While I would like #Mastodon to be far more established in society than it currently is, I don't think religiously looking at the MAU metrics is particularily helpful in that regard. There is no direct monetary motivation behind its distribution, so nobody even cares for precise numbers. I fully expect the quality of these metrics to be off by an order of magnitude due to the lack of motivation for spending the effort. That nonwithstanding, everybody joining up is a win! If you're new: Welcome!
