@scottjenson You've obviously had a complex day and I apologize if this feels like dogpiling but I'm genuinely curious. When you say "journalist" is it possible you mean "influencer?" As someone who loves #Mastodon with a special part of my heart, I think we all want journalism here but humans don't do much of that anymore. I do think many people use this as a refuge from a world where clicks and views are vastly more important than facts and sources.

That was a question with a familiar timbre. So I reflect. And yes, there is an echo I detect. It sounds like a man frustrated with "politically correct"
Resistance from those who won't conform? Boundaries to useful harm elsewhere the norm? That's always met with privileged frustration of this generic form
I suppose one could ask these folk, who want this omelet also free yolk, if they know they are the echo, and it rhymes with "Mastodon is too woke"

Apparently, the "Product Strategy Advisor to #Mastodon Core team" doesn't understand its userbase, Mastodon's nor the fediverse. It's always been about personal choice.
FWIW, nothing is stopping "AI People" from joining Mastodon nor the fedi. Mastodon is part of the fedi, it's another selling point.
If their instance doesn't want them, they can spin an instance on their own.
No one can force a community to be accepted.
