I'll put this as a reply to the post above, because I think it's related. We don't talk often about how toxic and full of gatekeepers fedi can be, and how much bullying is tolerated or even encouraged, even from people who have a certain influence, like the creator and ex CEO of the most successful fedi platform. I think some people who say they are advocates of an "open network" can have very strange interpretations of an "open network". If you want to keep out specific accounts from your server, you should be upfront about it, make it part of your server rules and suspend accounts that don't align with your vision for your community. If Mastodon thinks that anyone who is not against AI under any circumstances are people who "want to kill puppies", then this should be a rule in mastodon.social. Instead, it seems that it is encouraged to bully the hell out of anyone we don't agree with, until they leave. This is social networking 101 for building a toxic, unwelcoming and miserable community. Let's build a fediverse that is better than that.

There are valid reasons why AI companies and tech bros are not welcome here, as well as people who are defending them or trying to rationalize the use of bourgeois technology that is unethical, causing the rapid issues of AI vandals running rampant, AI bots that scraps data to be trained without permission, use of AI by companies to do mass layoff and therefore the higher count of unemployment, AI "artist" that clutter streaming platforms, and more problems.

Mit etwas Eingewöhnung konnte ich auch irgendwann ganz gut zwischen geschäftlich zwangsgenutztem MS-Office und den kleinen Unterschieden bei LibreOffice gedanklich umswitchen.
