I have to smirk a little about this.
People figuring out how to be social. Realizing that cliques and group behaviors are very real. Also that group-think and censorship to enforce it also happen... because we are people and social power is a real form of power.
The best way to combat this is to encourage individuals and small groups to host their own social media.
Most of the "big" Mastodon servers won't see my posts because they block most of the independent #fediverse servers... but there are still ways I can build an audience and express what I want to.
I think that a lot of the social interaction has retreated to private groups that are not visible from the outside. Hard to gauge this though... because I can't see it if I am not part of those groups.

had a feeling these art posts were slopped approximations and not scraped images of an artist’s work.
so i have to ask: who is creating these “Curated[artist-name]” accounts on dot-social?
i strongly suspected the slopping with Goya drawings. am not a Goya scholar but i do know he is one of the most forged artists.
this CuratedRaphael is ridiculous because there’s about +250 years between him and George Washington.

@FrostyNoon What makes for a good profile for a Mastodon account? What descriptions do people find most helpful? I suspect there are many different preferences and no 'right answers.' I'm still curious.
I like to have some indication of where the person is located in proximity to me. Some use a flag, and others use the Indigenous territory name.
