#Mastodon: I just did a quick test and, starting with version 4.5, Mastodon seems to automatically retrieve all replies to a post (it didn’t work with v4.4.5 but maybe that particular server wasn’t configured to do that).

@renchap@oisaur.com 044f specifies the use of a link to the quoted post as fallback, hidden behind .quote-inline.
Right now Mastodon puts this top of post, and this interferes with title generation logic on NodeBB. Essentially the URL becomes the title, which is not ideal.
Any chance the class name could be upgraded to a MUST so I can code against it? Potentially other implementors could use different class names.

We had a production outage on our Mastodon instance burningboard.net:
Root-cause analysis:
At around 16:23 today, the Linux OOMKiller did terminate two processes: java (Elasticsearch) and a PostgreSQL checkpoint process.
The termination of the pg checkpointer did put the database in a weird state (all connection attempts just saying "the database system is shutting down").
Immediate resolve:
pg_ctlcluster 17 main stop -m immediate
systemctl restart postgresql
Actions taken:
- Added 4GB of additional swap-space to the system
- Upgraded PostgreSQL to Version 18.0
- Added memory-limits in the systemd overrides for Elasticsearch
Everything operational again 🙂
