Wer auf Meta-Plattformen unterwegs ist, schwimmt in einem Sumpf der unterschiedlichsten Interessenlagen. Da ist nicht immer so klar, was von wem kommt und welche Absicht jemand hat.

Dank einer EU-Verordnung müssen sich jetzt wenigstens politische Parteien dort transparenter geben. Meta macht da gleich mehr draus - leider zum Nachteil anderer, die eigentlich Gutes wollen.

Not on Facebook, other than when I have to log in to get to the marketplace. I decided to scroll my feed after this. It is different from what this post talks about. Not heavy on AI generated slop, though IG is like that. Reels upon reels of AI generated story sort of things - of grandmas being eaten by tigers, that sort of thing. The thing Zuck wants after all.

"thats just the cover story, the AI also goes after people who dont use their accounts much

so basically:

you leave meta, the AI takes over

you come back, you are filtered from seeing what the AI said while impersonating you. Its just your posts.

your friend list and family cant see them either

meta knows everyone you know even offline because they compile profiles on people not on their service.

but strangers who dont know you will see you advertising a product somewhere or saying political stuff you would never say.

Strangers who wont care to tell someone they are being impersonated, because its pointless to DM a bot account that its a bot account.

By having AI and humans share accounts, it helps AI and botnets hide in plain sight

they get more engagement from humans who arent terminally online, infinite usage growth their investors crave

they make the bot problem the advertisers hate disappear, there are no bots in bang sing se. No more adpocalypses.

and they have a new service to sell to organizations to astroturf using believable accounts.

No need to buy stolen believable accounts from hackers anymore, meta takes 100% of the market share

You can just rent whole people now instead of buying too.

This is cambridge analytica on steroids."
