Instagram rectifica – Tocar un Reel ahora pausará el video en lugar de silenciarlo
Después de años de frustración para millones de usuarios, Instagram ha decidido finalmente estandarizar el comportamiento de su interfaz de video. La acción de «tocar» (tap) sobre un Reel servirá para pausar y reanudar la reproducción, eliminando la función de silenciar/activar sonido que había desconcertado a la comunidad desde el nacimiento del formato.

¿Por qué este cambio ahora? El triunfo de la lógica
Históricamente, Instagram era la única gran plataforma que utilizaba el toque simple para el audio, mientras que YouTube Shorts y TikTok ya usaban el sistema de pausa. Según fuentes internas, el cambio responde a tres motivos principales:
- Consistencia con la industria: Los usuarios tienen «memoria muscular» de otras apps. Al llegar a Instagram, silenciaban videos por error cuando solo querían detenerlos para observar un detalle.
- Retención de audiencia: Las métricas internas mostraron que muchos usuarios abandonaban un Reel si se silenciaba accidentalmente, pensando que había un error de carga o de sus auriculares.
- Accesibilidad: Pausar con un toque facilita la lectura de subtítulos o la observación de elementos visuales complejos sin tener que mantener el dedo presionado (acción que ahora se reservará para ver el menú de opciones).
¿Dónde queda el control de volumen?
No te preocupes, no han eliminado el silencio, solo lo han movido:
- Botón dedicado: Ahora aparecerá un pequeño icono de altavoz en la esquina inferior derecha de cada Reel para gestionar el audio de forma independiente.
- Sincronización del sistema: Instagram respetará de forma más estricta el interruptor físico de silencio del iPhone y los ajustes de volumen de Android, algo que los usuarios del nuevo Galaxy S26 habían solicitado tras los recientes fallos de certificación.
¿Cuándo verás el cambio?
La actualización se está desplegando de forma gradual mediante una modificación en los servidores (server-side switch). No necesitas actualizar la app desde la App Store o Play Store, pero es recomendable tener la última versión instalada para asegurar la compatibilidad con los nuevos botones de control de volumen.
