We have suspended babka.social for zionism, extreme misinformation, and hatred towards Palestinians.
There's a lot to cover, so please bear with us as this will be a multipart post.
First of all, we did not want to suspend a Jewish instance, so we initially rejected images and suspended specific users in May 2025, and then limited in June 2025, but we couldn't in good faith continue to federate at all due to the following behaviors from the admin there.
We'd like to first define zionism:
Zionism is an ethnocultural nationalist movement that emerged in late 19th-century Europe; it primarily seeks to establish and support a Jewish homeland through the colonization of the Palestine region, which corresponds to the Land of Israel in Judaism and is central to Jewish history. Zionists want to create a Jewish state in Palestine with as much land, as many Jews, and as few Palestinian Arabs as possible. Zionism initially emerged in Central and Eastern Europe as a secular nationalist movement in the late 19th century...
Zionism is apartheid at best, and genocide at worst.

Corrections to misinformation
Palestine is in the bible (see: Philistines) and it was not made up by the British.
Greta Thunberg did not call for the murder of Jewish people and he posted no proof of such a thing. She actively works with Jewish anti-zionists.
The authors that were put on a block list called for the support of the genocide of the Palestinian people. They were not put on the list simply for being Jewish.
Hamas did not shoot random Gazans. They shot IDF armed gangs that have been terrorizing Gazans for years now, including starving them.

We've done a suspension of mastodon.arch-linux.cz for poor moderation of racism and anti-roma sentiment a bit ago, but haven't done an official post on it. Here is that post.
This post was reported and was taken down, but the admin said that it was OK to leave the user in place, so they're allowed to do future racist posts to Black people about Roma people.
This says to us "Egregious racism and xenophobia is ok on this instance, as long as you delete the post afterwards", which is not how we moderate our instance. If you say everyone from a certain group of people "smells bad" and "commits criminal activity", that is extremely fucked up language and we would not allow that person to stay on our instance.
We also did a search of their domain to see if they'd blocked a few bad hashtags and the people who use them. They have not, so they are still federated with and/or have not deleted the data of:

We defederated from varishangout.net many months ago because they post loli content with some actual drawn naked children. This is unacceptable. We're making this post for anyone new to the fediverse who is unaware of the content posted to this domain.
We caught their domain when we were searching our custom emoji for the usual red flags, and found they had an antisemitic :jew: emoji. (We have now deleted that emoji)
We highly recommend searching your emojis for slurs against marginalized groups to find other instances that needs defederating.
Below are some screenshots from that instance of perhaps the most mild content you will find there. It gets so so much worse though. Do not interact. Just defederate. We also did a reverse lookup on their domain to get their IP to block all network traffic from them.
CW: the last image is implied pedo gaze but does not show nudity.
