as #signal user, i've often wanted to use a separate profile for work, for personal and for activism. whenever you're in that situation, #deltachat is helpful.
if you ever find yourself communicating in a context where it would be bad if you're phone numbers are leaked (despite being set to "hidden" because that setting is broken), then it's time to switch from #signal to #deltachat for that.
honestly signal's whole phone number thing is about as un-private as #facebook's real-name policy.

This reminds me of conversation with my know-it-all nephew circa 2010.
I said #Facebook shows complete disregard for user #privacy. He disagreed. I cited example that when Facebook added share articles you read, it was turned on by default. He cited he liked Facebook.

This morning I noticed unusually high Facebook uploads on my UniFi dashboard. No one in my household actively posts, just browsing.
Tracked it to my wife’s iPhone: ~3.75GB uploaded in 24h, including overnight. Upload spikes started around 11pm (while scrolling) and continued while she slept.
Facebook has no photo library access, but background app refresh was enabled (now disabled).
Should I be concerned?
