when #bluesky says the #ICE account is verified, they are talking about their app view. that's where the company lives. it's what can block an account (PDS basically?) for illegal activity. everything can be decentralized but the company will live or die based on how popular their app view is. running one well will be costly. access to it is what they somehow need to monetize. but that popularity will give them power to abuse users.

i have to be honest, please don't take my word for the gospel, it is just how i feel about this. i am an old school internet power user, i basically spend my life on here from the early 90s on & this entire #parasocial "hello YOU random person you are welcome to the #fediverse" doesn't sit right with me. y'all don't know each other lol. could be a #nazi, could be a #russian #troll. so basically all i am asking for is report the #bigots & the #misinformation so that it can be deleted asap.

Hey while you’re blocking #Bluesky you might consider blocking #threads dot net as well.
1. Find any user whose address ends with …[at]threads.net (You can type threads.net in the search box and click the Profiles matching… button)
2. Click on the user name to reveal their profile page
3. Click the ••• button
4. Click Block domain threads.net
5. Click Block server

i went from angry to thankful that i'm now in the #fediverse
i get more engagement in months on #Mastodon than i did for a yr w/ 1.4k followers on #bsky
i don't know if this will become true, but as long as #bluesky refuses to return to me all of the content i created there before they banned me, i will continue to #Resist those appeasers
