As @hongminhee recently posted about

A new drawing community called oeee.cafe (@oeee_cafe) made by @jihyeok and others just implemented #ActivityPub and joined the #fediverse. It's exciting to see niche art focused software using these tools and techniques to share in our weird network we have here.

#HopeGarden build stage is kinda finished (there's always room for more gabions), now working on tours & workshops with new calendar lu.ma/hopegarden & streamlining website hopegarden.uk Also posting photos on #PixelFed & realised that thanks to magic of #ActivityPub I can view them here on #Mastodon! pixelfed.social/hopegarden This is so cool.

Excited to share some great news from the #creative community! Oeee Cafe, a fantastic oekaki #drawing platform, just added #ActivityPub support today. This means all the amazing artwork being created there can now be shared and discovered across the #fediverse, which is such a wonderful step toward connecting creative communities.

Big shoutout to my friend @jihyeok for building this platform and bringing it to the fediverse. It's always inspiring to see developers creating spaces for artists and then opening them up to the broader federated community. If you're into digital art or just appreciate seeing creative work, definitely worth checking out what people are sharing from Oeee Cafe on your timeline now. You can find me there at @hongminhee if you want to connect!

For the past couple of days I've been hard at work writing documentation in the attempt to decrease the friction for developers that try #GoActivityPub for their applications.

I am of a mind to pay some #Go developers in the near future to do a weekend's worth of programming into trying to use the library in projects, so we can iron out potential issues with the use of the library itself and the documentation.

Anyone interested?

@gme Absolutely, militant is one word, I tend to use religious. But, yeah, I saw a situation spiral that could’ve gotten someone jailed b/c of nasty #Fediverse behaviour and them not understanding how #ActivityPub works. It also brings to mind when someone was freaking out over “algorithms” even though the person arguing for them was stating on a client level, which wouldn’t impact the person freaking out at all 😒
Regarding Misskey that’s actually a really cool feature and I hope to see more services tastefully take advantage of that

Just set up a #SkyBridge folks can use to bridge their #Bluesky accounts to #Mastodon / #ActivityPub apps. It's free & public for now, may go private if it starts to use up too many server resources.

When you visit Facebook.com, you see nothing — just a screen asking you to sign up or log in.

Friendica does the same thing.

I prefer a transparent Fediverse — one where, before I decide to sign up and share any details about myself, I can see what kind of community you're running and who’s part of it.

For example, I watched Mstdn.ca for nearly a month before joining. I knew who the staff were, what kind of posts they liked or shared, who appeared to be active, whether the space was fairly moderated, whether there was any drama, if people's privacy was respected, and generally what kind of content was welcomed.

Fedi sites like Friendica lack that transparency. You join and just hope you didn't unknowingly make a mistake.

just curious, wondering why did activitypub use json and not something more closer to html (such as xml)?

On a serious note, I’m proud of the work being done at #Blacksky as well as #Blackfedi. Black and Brown folks we don’t need to get caught up in anyone’s protocol & platform wars, life is already tough for us and there’s minimal spaces for us as it is. We should be turning #BlackTwitter into the combined spaces of #ATProto #ActivityPub . We need safe, fun, funny, creative etc spaces for our people. Black and Brown owned digital spaces! Where users can determine their own experiences without being dragged one way or the other regarding algorithms, full text search, quote posts, PM harassment etc I look forward to that day and look forward to contributing to that. #Blacklove #Blackpower #Tech #BlackFediverse

That's really nice.

But at the end the only thing which matters - to avoid situations with the @mississippifreepress.org - is how many users(!) are not at the mercy of 's decisions.

If this number is not far above 50% then it won't be decentralized in practice.

And btw, why not integrating with the ? could support in addition to .
