At Media Scope Group we have always believed that communications and technology should serve people—not the other way around. Today, we turn that belief into reality with the launch of @Vebinet, a new social platform built on the proven #Mastodon and #ActivityPub protocols.
#Vebinet is more than a service; it is a gateway to the fediverse, a decentralized network of independent servers that together form a vibrant, open social ecosystem. https://mediascope.group/introducing-vebinet-a-people-first-gateway-to-the-fediverse/ #socialmedia #internet #fediverse
So I have determined it's working and I have gotten a reply processed through the system. I don't know what else to test yet or how to clean this up so far but still going.
I want to eventually have a block that will display a combination of local and Federated reply as the comment section. That may just need to be a views block though.
Progress is progress.

If you are having problems with other software in the Fediverse ecosystem, try…idk, talking to the devs? They're right there. Or even block the software from your instance entirely.
Don't be a fucking dick.
Quoting posts has been (rightfully) hotly debated, but I’m excited for the feature.
For better or worse, it’s a core feature of other mainstream social platforms. If we want Mastodon (or any Activity Pub software) to have broader mainstream appeal, this is a necessary feature.
I’m optimistic about Mastodon’s implementation, based on what’s been shared so far.
It is also obvious from all the trending users/topics that the active Fediverse and ATmosphere user bases are overwhelmingly from the global north. But I don’t know if you can adapt your methodology to plot this, and to track it over time. May be worth trying.

You could do it as a country-wise spread, and maybe you can also do it as a global north versus global south (Africa, Asia, Latin America) spread.
It is well-known that almost all of the instances and infrastructure is located in the USA and in Europe, but it would be good to track how this evolves.

Since a lot of people seem concerned about jurisdictions under which social media instances operate, you can try adapting your social media decentralization-tracking methodology to plot how spread the Fediverse instances and ATmosphere components are, across geographies and jurisdictions.

Also: if FEP-ef61

becomes widely adopted in future, then other ActivityPub-based software may incorporate nomadic identity, and you may have to worry about all of the above at that point.
