Is it correct to say the #Fediverse and #BlueSky are "federated" by protocol bridges? I have similar question related to #Nostr and #Threads and other bridged protocols. Given the #Fediverse is #ActivityPub, what this larger federated social web called?

The big feature in release v3.2.4 of Ktistec is support for viewing and voting on Mastodon polls (AKA FEP-9967: Polls). This feature took a surprising amount of work. Some of the effort was due to my struggles with visual design, but getting the behavior right was also tricky. For example, a "vote" is just an ActivityPub Note, but unlike other notes, it shouldn't appear in a poll's replies (it could, but that would be redundant and confusing). So I had to add exceptions throughout the code to deal with this. A custom Vote object type would have been nice in the original implementation.

- Added tooltip to notifications menu item summarizing new notifications.

- Improved wrapping of actor panel follow/refresh information. (fixes #130)
- Autocomplete now works correctly when adjacent to a Trix attachment.

Je viens de créer un profil depuis peu, sous #Mastodon, avec le même pseudo.
Et je me rends compte depuis un certain temps, de la quantité d'infos qui ne passe pas entre ces différentes instances (commentaires invisibles, etc)...

Here it is pure #PHP and #MySQL or #MariaDB is needed.
Shared Hosting is sufficient here, but installation is still needed to be done manually. No type of installer yet. No container.
No public repo yet.
Base of my stuff is my own code library or framework (whatever you want to call it), that was never designed to run for other people except myself. So still a longer way to achieve a deployable product usable by others.
But i operate multiple instances using my #Fediverse server on a daily basis... and btw. i called it #Mammuthus...
And besides of #ActivityPub (S2S) i also support a more or less #Mastodon compatible #Client #API to allow the usage of apps and clients designed for that one.
But also here still work to be done, e.g. the support of quoted posts.
So, the creation of an own #Fediverse server software may be not the fastest way to get instances up and running... ;-)

Have you heard any recent updates on the federation? Last time I checked (a few months back) it seemed to be in the "nice to have" category but not particularly actively being worked on.

I think Matrix still has my favorite decentralized service username schema. 
@user:domain.tld makes a lot of intuitive sense to me and looks really clean. It's really clear which part is the username and which is the domain without looking repetitive. It starts with an @ so it tells clients to pull up the username lookup when you start typing, but it doesn't get kludgy like other username schemas do.
user@domain.tld makes sense for email I guess because you can't really @ people inline, but it doesn't work well for other services because it doesn't start with an @ so it doesn't indicate to the client to pull up the username lookup. I'm curious how XMPP handles this. 
@user@domain.tld that Fedi uses looks awful to me. I hate the double @'s, it just doesn't scan very well and looks silly. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like my username is being flanked by boobies. 
(Technically Fedi uses WebFinger/the email schema under the hood from the last example and the double @'s are just user-facing in order to trigger the inline username lookup, but meh, I'm including it.)
@domain.tld that Bluesky uses seems clean on the surface, but then you realize your username is (usually) just a domain name which is... weird. 
Then you're stuck making a subdomain for your username if you couldn't get a dedicated domain for it, so then it becomes @user.domain.tld or even @user.subdomain.domain.tld which is just, like, idk a lot of dots. 
It makes sense for ATProto because of how the DIDs work, but it's still not my favorite.
I know I've made this ramble before but I'm like Fedi handles where I'm hopelessly repetitive
