I was just wondering where followers and following were on #ActivityPub - "I switched to authors and blog, and I no longer found followers"
I was writing a topic on the forum, when I just explored my dashboard more and found the two different directions: author's followers are in users submenu, blog followers are on ActivityPub's submenu.

Calling all #fediverse developers for help: I'm currently trying to implement a #reporting (#flag) feature for Hackers' Pub, an #ActivityPub-enabled community for software engineers. Is there a formal specification for how cross-instance reporting should work in ActivityPub? Or, is there any well-documented material that explains how the major implementations handle it?

Die PLC-Directory, also wo alle Identitaeten gespeichert werden, liegt bei Bluesky PBC, die sich uebrigens auch einzig und allein fuer die Weiterentwicklung von AT-Proto zustaendig fuehlen.
#Eurosky ist, wie #Bluesky auch, nicht dezentral. Und #atproto ist ist (noch) kein W3C- oder IETF-Standard wie #ActivityPub, sondern ein von Bluesky entwickeltes und gesteuertes Protokoll – mit Roadmap-Macht beim Unternehmen!

Well… you were using Mastodon v3 from over 5 years ago. That’s half a decade ago. That could be a clue. 🤡
Meanwhile, Mastodon 5.2 has a known security issue. It’s not exactly critical (not easy to trigger), but support for it ends next month — January 2026.
May I suggest you upgrade!
The current build is 4.5.3 (the nightly build is 4.6).

We strongly recommend anyone using this old Mastodon build upgrade to the current 4.5.x branch. If you’re adventurous, knowledgeable, and willing to take some risk, you could try the development 4.6 build.
Above all, move off 4.2.x as soon as possible. 😉

So @jay.bsky.team says that relay layer moderation affects the whole network but also that #blacksky is building their own relay.
The relays are the crux of my concern. How many will probably exist based on cost/complexity and will they interoperate? I don't get how this is functionally different than #ActivityPub servers for users. They will have power over speech and reach. This is why fedi folks don't want mastodon dot social to get too big etc.
