Built a small but satisfying upgrade on my "Even de draad kwijt" site: one WordPress block pattern for episode buttons (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts), powered by 3 ACF URL fields per episode.
So I update the design once, fill in links per episode, and I am done. No more copy paste across posts.

Mal eine Frage in die Wordpress-Gemeinde. Ich habe nun meine ersten Beiträge mit dem Block-Editor erstellt. Wenn ich in der Beitrags-Übersich auf "Bearbeiten" klicke, lande ich wieder im klassichen Editor. Nur wenn ich auf "Gutenberg Editor" klicke, bekomme ich diesen auch zu sehen. Kann man das irgendwo ändern, sodass der Gutenberg zum Standard wird?

It's cold and a bit miserable outside so I've spent a few days setting up a local version of Classicpress (a less bloated Wordpress) to use purely as a CMS, which is then converted automatically into a static site for uploading to the server. Is it easier to write posts than Markdown? Not sure really. Anyway, it's kept my mind active and occupied for a coupe of days whilst sat in front of a nice warm fire

You're right! Ideal is too strong for the case, as we'd better chose something else. Maybe viable/possible would fit better. However, #WordPress adds #networkeffects to #opensourceinnovation. Otherwise, how would #Brazilianmuseums, which are among the most defunded institutions on the planet, have the muscle to be part of this conversation? The opportunity that the #pluginecosystem opens up for #sustainable #freesoftware development was key to bringing us here.

Während hier alles brachliegt, breche ich eine Lanze für Stanley Kubricks „Barry Lyndon“. Entgegen aller anderslautenden Gerüchte ist der Film nur lang, aber in keiner Sekunde langweilig. Im Zeitalter der screenshots ist es möglich, sich Gainsborough-Bilder an die Wand zu hängen, die nicht von Gainsborough sind, weil sie von Kubrick sind. Schauspieler, von denen man das nicht unbedingt erwartet – Ryan O’Neal, Marisa Berenson – gehen einem plötzlich mit der stillen Intensität an die Nieren, die Kubrick in ihre Gesichter gezaubert hat…,..
