Do you still have an account (active or inactive) on #Twitter/ X? It’s about time to delete it. Yes, even that outdated account from your project years ago still contributes to the number of users that both X itself and others use as an excuse for 'can't leave because there are too many followers'

We're seeing the fundamental tension of capitalism play out in the most obvious and harmful way: a company is profiting (either financially or in social capital) by creating content that is objectively harmful to society, especially its most vulnerable (children). Can governments actually protect the public wellbeing when doing so will harm a business?

I expect the answer is No in most countries. And the US is threatening to enact foreign power maneuvers to protect a corp's interests.

So it's Monday and now ofcom has "started investigating x"...

This is why governments absolutely suck at regulating technology, grok has been producing these images for ages ( summer last year in some cases ), even our politicians worked this out mid last week and we've made it to the opening of business hours the following week to START looking into it.
