It took another year to get started. It might take the next year to get it done. Rebuilding https://wintermute.de/itsonmylist with #SwiftUI , forced to use #liquidglass …

Made good progress re-writing all the accessors in #CodableDatastore, but not done yet… Tomorrow night, let's continue the process. See you then!

Remember the old rule about SwiftUI's 𝐺𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑝 being harmful with lifecycle modifiers? Time to revisit. Chris Trott discovers surprising behavior changes across iOS versions that challenge what we thought we knew about 𝐺𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑝 and modifier scope.

#WatchOS does not support the primary user experience of navigating Wikipedia via links through a native implementation. Looking for solutions.
#SwiftUI doesn't support seperate tappable interactions on long concatnated strings.
Estimatating link locations isn't feasible for a multilingual app.
Emma K Alexendra had a creative solution but can't trigger functions with it, and watchOS doesn't support custom URL schemes.
Final straw is that watchOS doesn't support UITextView or NSTextView
and 1.0 is available on the app store right now!

I've been quiet for a while about TaskFrame... but that's because I've been hard at work on the first big update, 1.1!
This update includes:
- A reworked Upcoming view to show your tasks with even more context
- Location based alerts
- A reworked share extension that uses a local LLM to generate task suggestions
- The ability to defer tasks to a later date
- Many small tweaks and big fixes
I look forward to sharing it with you soon!

During the Christmas break of 2022, I made a little game in #SwiftUI to learn sides of it that I don’t normally get to use at my day job.
Fast forward three years, my wife and kids are still playing the game and have been asking me to put it up in the App Store.
So today I submitted it. Let’s see what happens.
