Status update for social media as of August 2025:
- X: Nazi echo chamber, digital underground, influencers, assholes seek attention by insulting everyone. AI.
- Truth Social: Nazi echo chamber, even feels more pleasant when compared X nowadays
- Threads: Feels like a repeat of X - popularity attracts influencers who post without engaging, along with whiners and right-wing users; also seeing Facebook users leaking in. AI.
- Bluesky: Like Twitter 2 but with fewer people; very boring and still lacking features
- Instagram: Memes, influencers, ads, AI - more entertainment than social interaction
- Tumblr: Nearly abandoned by mainstream, hardly anyone I know uses it anymore
- Mastodon and other Fediverse platforms: The only nice places where users have control, but frequent cancel culture scares people away
- Facebook: Social media for boomers; mainly a closed space for friends, family, and people seeking help
- TikTok: Popular with younger generations who rarely use the other platforms
- LinkedIn: All hype, all work, AI AI AI AI AI

#reddit is good for two reasons as far as I'm concerned as someone not always online:
1. Talking about #tourettes as it's one of the few active, large communities who actually have TS, and don't just think they have TS cuz they saw a few videos. People with TS also tend to be terminally online as it's embarrassing to many.
2. Getting banned for 30 days cuz I said something that made sense, but offended someone who knew I used enough keywords to find an automod.
