New blog post: Building a custom On-Call Pager with Home Assistant! 📟
I needed a way for clients to reach me urgently. The solution? A simple web UI (secured by Cloudflare Access + K8s) that triggers a Home Assistant webhook.
It sends me a Signal message with an ACK code. If I don't reply? It escalates to a Twilio voice call. 🚨

Maybe #SocialMedia is a blessing because a lot of shitty behavior can be observed much earlier from a relatively remote/safe distance?
Maybe ideas can be discussed without immediate risk of retaliation?
Remember the comment "people say things on-line that they wouldn't in real life". Yeah sure, but in real life some people are oppressive abusive assholes, so social media enables matters to be discussable.

Everyone bitching about #SocialMedia being a problem, but how many have (recently) seriously studied off-line human "social" behavior?
Are we solving the right problem?
Especially with housing crisis, financial crisis or medical crisis, we haven't exactly demonstrated ideal "off-line" behavior.
