Welp, we may very well lose seriously the best #FOSS #NAS option we had, #TrueNAS at some point - maybe even soon. @geerlingguy@mastodon.social rightly mentioned that this smells a whole lot like the whole #RedHat/#CentOS debacle not that long ago. This sucks, but meh, I’m liking #OpenMediaVault more and more these days - prolly not as sophisticated, but certainly does the job and is super simple to setup (#RaspberryPi as first class citizen too).

btop was looking bad on my Raspberry Pi, as the locale wasn't set nicely. "sudo raspi-config" could not straighten it out for me. I read the man page for "localectl" and straightened it out. Now btop looks great, even in a tmux.

Today I shut down my last Rasperry Pi (1) - it was connected to my electricity meter and measured my power consumption for several years. Now I have replaced it with a ESP32 super mini.

@scottslowe for occasional single files I'm using scp or rsync.
But for more compatibility with the local #macos and #ios devices (and their users!) I'm also running a #samba server on a #raspberrypi. Remote access is not required here.

Hot dog. Finally got my computer to run through my Pi Hole after updating my routers and redesigning my network. Didn't know that if the Pi Hole and your computer are on the same network but one is connected via Ethernet and the other is WiFi, it won't work. Smooth sailing once I turned the WiFi on the Raspberry Pi and set it with a Static IP. #raspberrypi
