Raspberry Pi users: what's a typical temperature of your system, as reported by the `vcgencmd measure_temp` command?

(Boosts for reach appreciated.)

Today I'm wearing the sysop hat. I'm currently setting up NetBSD after installing it on my Raspberry Pi 2. It was really easy to install and the doc is good so I'm not facing any insurmountable troubles.

@mlepage Have a look at github.com/gitbls/sdm/blob/mas for an easy way to LUKS-encrypt your rootfs. Plus a LOT more. Rumor is that the sdm dev is very responsive 😎

I resumed setting up my Raspberry Pi 4B as a headless network server.

I had prototyped this setup using Btrfs a few months ago, but hadn't actually finished or deployed it.

I had wanted to add LUKS full disk encryption, but was unsure how to approach it. Now, I left the main system unencrypted using ext4, and only the data partition is encrypted using Btrfs.

Then I set up Samba, and made progress on scripting automatic snapshots (for previous versions of files), using inotify.

I'm recently having lots of fun with my #raspberrypi ! I've set up pihole 🕳️ to block ads and once my kiddo is old enough to have a family shield 🛡️ . Its also hosting a NAS on my home network and i just upgraded it with a temperature / fan control and i think thats all very cool :-)

:raspberrypi: A cute Handheld Gaming Device that you can build in an Altoids Tin.

The MintyPi was a popular project that put a Raspberry Pi inside an Altoids tin to make a pocketable gaming handheld. Unfortunately, it’s not the easiest build to replicate anymore, but [jackw01] was still a fan of the format. Thus was born the Pi Tin — a clamshell handheld for portable fun!

@FreeCAD During the week I off and on worked on a #RaspberryPi camera module 3 case explicitly designed to be easy to print and assemble, and on an enclosure for an #Adafruit CSI/DSI Extender (3671)

The only thing I now need is working electronics, but that’s another story 🙃

#TIL: Either @octoprint does not support it, or my #RaspberryPi #CameraModule3 is broken, or all of my flex cables are broken, or I magically forgot how to connect cables, or the default #OctoPrint configuration cannot use the camera module …

I also learned that my #Logitech #C920 (USB) works perfectly fine in 720p@10 mode. (1080p@30 mode also works but it’s overkill and I don’t want to stress the system too much for just a control camera stream).

I think stripping the camera and design a custom case would also be a good option, right now it’s just awkwardly clamped on the front bar

Designing a using and 3D printed parts to create a compact 10-inch rack.

The plan is:

Top-of-rack: A Banana Pi BPI-R3, functioning as a mesh node to connect the network to the rack.
Raspberry Pis: Will serve as the backbone of my lab, allowing me to experiment with various projects.
Storage: One of the Pis is connected to a 5.25 hot-swap 4xHDDs enclosure via a Redxa penta sata hat.
3D Printed Parts: I’m designing custom components to fit perfectly in the rack.
