Should I still build universal2 wheels for macOS? MarkupSafe previously had cibuildwheel configured "auto universal2" for macOS, which resulted in x86_64 and universal2 wheels. Someone suggested changing it to "x86_64 arm64" instead. I bet @glyph can answer this. #Python

If you can't fight them, join them. That's what they say, right?

Well, I've decided to install AI onto my computer. No, not just something that connects to the cloud, like ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot. I mean *a whole freaking AI program*, which can run entirely locally.

I installed ComfyUI and got the WAN 2.2 diffusion model for image and video generation. I'm not just doing this to create cringey fetish videos or scary deepfakes - I want to actually learn the software. It's amazing that it works at all on my underpowered system - it not only took forever to download some 30GB+ of data, I had to lower my workflow settings a bit so the model can run quicker... and it still takes up to 20 minutes to generate a low-res, five-second video. 😰

Of course, I'm forced to use my CPU for this, as I can't seem to run the model off of my AMD GPU on Windows. ROCm, which would easily allow this, only works on Linux, so... anyone who has tips that reads this, um... help?!? 😵‍💫

👋 Hello World, I’m Tamar — a full-stack web developer-in-training as well as a Jewish scholar and rabbanit (as in female rabbi). I've been tinkering on the internet since Lynx and finally decided to learn programming for real. My passion is in building learning sites, apps, and platforms and sharing knowledge. Needless to say, big fan of Open Source/Open Knowledge.

My focus is context-first coding: exploring why concepts like loops, functions, or queries matter, not just how to write them.

Here I hope to share:
🖥️ Code snippets from my projects
📚 Reflections on pedagogy & coding instruction
🌐 Blog posts (coming soon!) → dev.trmarvin.org

Looking forward to learning & sharing with this community!
