So, I wrote my first #Kubernetes operator. It is a simple one: Modifies a ConfigMap and creates/updates/deletes a Service based on information from my CustomResource data. I skipped using Go (I am a beginner and not that convinced its what I want to write to often) and used #Python. With the libraries kopf and kr8s this was astonishing simple.
Next week I need to add a sidecar to pods, doing some magic for each like creating portforwards and setting a label based on some connection logic.
Overall a great task, something different from my usual Python works.

@tymwol funnily enough, it's often the #python programmers that seem to whinge like hell about being forced to handle errors in #go.
The #rust approach is more inline with some functional languages, but I actually prefer the simplicity of Go's approach (even though its very verbose).
