Django Developers Survey 2025 results
The results from the 2025 Django Developers Survey are now available. This is the fourth annual report conducted from November 2024 to January 2025 by the Django Software Foundation in collaboration with JetBrains PyCharm.
The full report contains infographics, quotes, and dedicated sections so you can easily navigate through all the results. There is also a The State of Django 2025 blog post highlighting key Django trends in 2025 and actionable ideas for your own Django development.

So I talked to this new-hire #software #engineering about how I have no problem answering questions. in fact, I *love* it.
BUT
if it something you can find out on your own, try to do that first. like, don't ask me what order the arguments come in a 20 line #python utility in our own codebase and that you are running off-hours. Just look at the code!
The result is that I get just as many questions, but now he's even more #anxiety and uncertain.
The trouble is, I get it. Except I was anxious about appearing dumb, which led me to FIGURE OUT ALL THE THINGS myself. Whereas he is anxious about doing the wrong thing, which is leading him to ask for constant guidance (and confirmation and re-confirmation) at every step.
I've tried reassuring him that he cannot possibly break anything and that our employer *expects* him to experiment and make mistakes. I've also praised him many times about how he's doing great.
Imagine taking a 12 year old to the park. When they want to go down the slide, they come and ask you if they may. And they ask "to make sure" that you climb up the stairs end and slide down the other end. Then they come and ask if they can do it again. Then another kid wants to join so your child comes and asks you what they should say to that other kid. Then it all repeats again but for the swings.
How long would you last at the park?
I'm not sure what else to try.

Ich fummle jetzt seit Tagen Mal wieder was mit #python. Diesmal in Verbindung mit #qt6.
(Vor vielen (sehr vielen) Jahren hab ich mit C++ und #qt3 gearbeitet)
Und ich mags noch immer.
#qt hat einfach eine Klasse Dokumentation und funktioniert reibungslos.
Mit dynamischen Modulen ist das ganze dann auch noch prima erweiterbar.

✋ I'd also love to know whose companies would be willing to pay or discuss it for Extended Django LTS support, even if you aren't sure of an amount.
(I suspect the amount would be >$10k for bigger companies, given how much work this takes.)
