I used to buy a lot of #books before #gamedev, hundreds about IT. This is the first book about a programming language that I bought today, after 7-10 years. I had little experience with #python and it was a long time ago, I forgot everything. I love the Head First series. So, why do I need Python now? I want to go through this book with my 11-year-old son. He already knows how to program in some languages, and Python is the one that is everywhere, even in the school curriculum next year.

copyparty erleichtert den Dateiaustausch
Ihr habt ein Treffen, jeder hat seinen PC dabei und ihr wollt ohne USB-Stick jede Menge Dateien untereinander austauschen? Das könnte problematisch werden, außer ihr wollt eure Schwarzkopien mit einer Cloud teilen oder erstmal ein NAS so konfigurieren, damit alle darauf zugreifen können!? Genau für solche Zwecke, bei denen man nicht viel Zeit investieren möchte, hat ein Norweger copyparty erstellt. Das Ganze erinnert an Computerpartys aus den 90er Jahren, bei denen es normal war, dass die Leitungen regelrecht geglüht haben. Für das Tool gibt es auch einen Online-Demoserver, an dem man sich orientieren kann, wie das aussieht und was damit alles damit möglich ist. Das Programm ist in Python und muss nur kurz ausgeführt werden. Man kann es in einer Shell auch unter iOS installieren, um es sogar auf einem iPhone oder iPad zu starten
Nun, ich will es mal so sagen: wer eh schon ein python installiert hat, hat auch schon einen brachial primitiven websörver vollkommen fertig rumliegen, ohne noch irgendwas anderes installieren zu müssen. Sieht natürlich nach nix aus und ist auch nix tolles, muss aber auch nur kurz an der kommandozeile ausgeführt werden und läuft überall, wo auch python läuft:
$ python -m http.server
Den zugriff auf die dateien im aktuellen verzeichnis gibt es über die IP-adresse auf port 8000, also lokal als 127.0.0.1:8000. Man wird natürlich die aktuelle netzwerkadresse verwenden. Um die rauszukriegen, muss man nur klicken können. Und schon kann man lustig dateien zum bekwemen daunlohd für die generazjon klickibunti mit dem webbrauser anbieten. Ich würde allerdings nicht empfehlen, das primitive ding auch ins internetz zu ruhten. Die meisten menschen haben auf ihren kompjutern daten rumliegen, die sie nicht so gern weltweit veröffentlichen wollen, falls da mal wieder ein kleines sicherheitsloch drin ist (das ist schon passiert). Zum beispiel private schlüssel, die known_hosts für SSH, persönliche korrespondenz, die gesamte mäjhl oder den kompletten brauserverlauf zum genüsslichen nachwixen. (Deshalb werden websörver fürs internetz meist unter einem eigenen benutzerkonto mit recht geringen rechten im dateisystem ausgeführt.) Aber fürs lokale netzwerk und unter leuten, denen man zwar vertrauen kann, aber denen man auf die schnelle weder NFS noch SMB erklären mag (das kann beides ganz schön hirnen), ist das ein gangbarer weg. Wenn man gerade mal keine billigen datenzäpfchen mitgebracht hat. Denn USB 3 ist wunderbar und macht so ein gefummel schnell und einfach zur lösung ohne problem. 😁️
Ach ja, genau: „lösung ohne problem“ war es, was ich schreiben wollte…

You've used the #rstats REPL in vscode and found it useful.
You've used jupyter environment for #python in vscode and found it inferior.
You've used positron (a different ide. new to me) for either python or R and found it superior to vscode.
am I even close?
