Have been thinking a lot lately on how to have lazily loaded (and instantiated) PHP classes in WordPress plugin development while also having the action/filter hook close to the callback code and potentially a DI container (or singletons).
Think I've finally settled on an approach (PHP attributes on methods with a compilation step that uses the Reflection API) that checks all the boxes.

PHP has been good in maintaining backwards compatibility...but a subtle change in #php 8.4 may surprise you when handling query parameters while using (backed) enums.
„Not only has http_build_query() adopted a new serialization strategy for enums, it has also introduced inconsistent error-handling semantics. Depending on the type of invalid data encountered, the function may now either throw an exception or silently ignore the offending value.“
