#askfedi Sounds like the huge file size is probably from using MJPEG at super high quality β it's not great for compression. If youβre rendering from REAPER (or any editor), try switching the video codec to libx264 (H.264) instead. In the options box, add:
-crf 25 -preset veryfast
Thatβll shrink the file a lot without looking terrible to the sighties. You can go even higher like -crf 28 if space is tight.
Also! If your audio is set to uncompressed PCM, switch it to AAC or MP3 at 128 kbps β way smaller and still sounds fine. And if you donβt need full HD, rendering at 1280x720 instead of 1080p can save a bunch more space.
