When your a middle aged man alone in life suffering in constant pain, disability and poverty, finding the things to be thankful for is simply an oxymoron, there are no small victories every facet of your existence is a battle, every moment a moment of turmoil and misery, no matter how hard you try to shift your focus and seek out to be positive and thankful, you could be thankful for your socks until you put them on, a fight to pull them up only to find they have holes, your pants you could be thankful for until you realize they are falling apart at the seams, food if your lucky enough to eat you could be thankful for but your still hungry and not sure of what meal you get to eat again, thankful for the small support if and when it comes in, but then you notice its not enough to even put a dent in the overwhelming needs you have, some would say you could be thankful for being alive, I suppose but I promise you my life you would not want to be, so towards the end of Thanksgiving with no family nor meal to eat, no resources to actually get the things you need, its rather hard to find anything to really be thankful for, so if you have all you need and those who love you dear be thankful because so many are like me with nothing to be thankful for;

Poverty is not an individual failing, it is a moral and societal failing, anyone can get hurt and lose the ability to work, anyone can get sick and lose everything to medical care, anyone can lose everything in a disaster, society created the classes the economic system that created billionaires and the homeless, society opened the door to sue for poor choices, society opened the door for criminalization for ignorance, society opened the door for large companies to dictate how doctors treat patients, society it's self failed it's self, we love to say the system is broken, we love to hear campaign promises that are often forgotten, we love to place blame, but we refuse to realize that collectively we have prevented the system that allows all to thrive to be, we refuse to realize that we allow interpersonal conflict to dictate how we treat one another and how we move forward together or regress into a feuding division, the sad reality is the majority of our issues, are because we refuse the right to dignity and respect to one another, those that are making it like to assume everyone can alone, and those who made it refuse to acknowledge all those that propped them up along the way, the middle refuses to see they can be on the bottom as they strive to be on top, and the bottom is trapped with the indignity of never being, poverty, we all are trapped in a moral bankrupt poverty and as a society we refuse to see it that way;

For when we stand for our shared ideals our differences will fall away making room for truth in unity, we are but one species one people one family, we must find the path that removes all barriers between us, we must forge a bridge across the dived that has separated us, we must tear down walls borders hate and fear, for every drop of blood that is shed in the name of justice, hate, fear, or freedom comes from each and everyone of our hearts, it is time for those on the top to reach deep within themselves and to truly lift up the bottom, it is time for those that have give back to those that made them wealthy, it is time for every man woman and child to have food to eat, healthcare, education a roof over their heads, it is time that we use the resources at our disposal to remove all limitations on life, for when we all reach the top of the mountain, we all get to bask in the view of what we accomplished together as one body;

Thoughts for #Thanksgiving, actually verses from the Bible, for as you read the words I share I ask you pray and think about what is shared, as we have separated from heart and compassion and have embraced selfishness and entrenched the hatred of those in need;
Proverbs 22:9
He who has a bountiful eye will be blessed,

he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who contributes, in liberality; he who gives aid, with zeal; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

The point is this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Thanksgiving is about giving thanks, and the entire fall/winter #holidayseason is centered around love, compassion and the act of actively supporting those in need, as a disabled man existing in poverty, I am left begging for help that more often than not I do not receive, and when I do it is never enough to even scratch the surface of my overwhelming needs, and I know first hand how devasting a life in poverty is and how hard it truly is, I also know I am not alone, so as you enjoy your holidays, please remember these words and give thanks by showing active compassion and truly provide support to those of us in need;

A government that leads from the top powered by the top supporting the top, can not effectively govern while continuing to constantly tax in every conceivable the middle and completely ignoring the bottom, if your not willing to govern by lifting the bottom rewarding the middle and taxing the top reminding them without the middle and bottom there would be no top, for far to long society has abandoned the bottom rewarded the top and used the middle for leverage, for who ever does for the least of you, you do for me Jesus said, while those in power proclaim to lead with conviction, they lack the ability to lead with compassion;
